'Sisters Three'

 

Made from the same branch, and a perfect blend of heart and sap wood, three pieces share the same tones and contours.

 

For casting and meditating upon

 

Hand carved with green woodworking tools. Corylus avellana, from the ancient coppice in the Guildhall garden, Finished with hemp oil.

 

Natural colour fleece , handspun singles (mix of wheel and drop spun) from Finbar, Ramsey and Douglas - rare breed Manx Loaghtan sheep kept at Nowton Park, Bury St Edmunds.

Woven plain weave with mixed blocks of ‘S’ and ‘Z’ twist yarns on a 2 shaft floor loom.

Mat measures approx. 26x14.5cm, sewn with GOTS organic cotton thread.

 

Originally part of the exhibition 'Raw - Tactile Viscera' that was installed at the Guildhall in September 2024.
